Both the junior and senior girls' basketball teams have yet to taste defeat, while the football squad, fielding a team for the first time in the LOSSA league, opened on an historic note with a win also. In an all-Clarington basketball battle, Holy Trinity took both ends of a doubleheader from St. Stephen's Stephen's as the juniors won 40-25 and the seniors 53-16. Monique Sylvester had 12 points in the senior game for Holy Trinity, while Courtney Hamilton reached double digits with 10. In the junior tilt, Andrea Gerrits had 18 points and Rebecca Crosby 10. It was more of the same against Denis O'Connor, as the seniors pulled out a narrow 48-44 decision, while the juniors had an easier time in a 40-11 victory. The juniors had a closer tilt against G.L. Roberts, pulling out a 34-33 overtime win behind the 10-point effort of Monica Neal. Gerrits was next with nine points and Crosby had eight. Sylvester's 24 points led the seniors to a 42-36 win. Hamilton was next highest with eight. The junior boys' football team made quite an entry into LOSSA league play, pounding Denis O'Connor 40-6 in a game played at Holy Trinity. Matt Raco had three touchdowns, Mark Visser two and Dan McCarthy one. to lead the offence. Corey McKinnon scored two, two-point conversions.
