In 1992 Evylin received an award from the Municipality of Clarington in recognition of her efforts on behalf of the environment. As an educator, Evylin was especially committed to literacy issues including including long time service on the Bowmanville Library Board, Evylin had a remarkable zest for life and adventure. She loved to garden, was a voracious reader, and was renowned lor her keen wit and judicious Intelligence. Intelligence. She was a loyal confidant and mentor to her family and to her many friends and colleagues, She was a devoted caregiver to her beloved pels Gri- setle, Gizmo, Kissie and Tai.
