That may be a true statement when you consider the success of Clarington athletes competing for the Oshawa Aquatic Club. At the Eastern Canadian Championships Championships in Montreal, Meghan Brockington (14), swimming in the 15 & under junior age group, claimed gold in the 200m Butterfly, Butterfly, silver in the 50m Butterfly and bronze in the 100m Butterfly. Her performance has ranked her first in Canada for 14-year-olds and eighth in the country regardless regardless of age. She also smashed six club records in the process. At the Junior Provincial Championships Championships in London, Brockington Brockington continued her winning ways by capturing five medals including winning the 100m and 200m Butterfly, annihilating the meet record in both events and re-writing three club records.
