Twenty Motor Vehicle Collisions Collisions were investigated in which thirteen persons were injured. As a result of these collisions five persons have been charged with offences under the Highway Traffic Act. The Newcastle Officers also investigated ninety-six occurrences occurrences of a general nature. Some of these occurrences were as follows: There were five investigations into offences offences of "Break and Enter," three investigations into offences offences of "Wilful Damage", two investigations into offences offences of "Fraud" and two investigations into offences of "Theft". Other activities included included investigations into various various domestic complaints, complaints of assault and reports of lost properties. The Hotelmën who outshot Spencers 21-15 had six marksmen, Mike Doyle, P. Brown, Terry Walton, Garry Van Dam, Ron Slack and P. Rickard. Spencers who are tied for fourth with Partners Plumbing had a pair scored by DougRickard and a single by Pete Henderson. They could hold on to a play off spot by winning their next two starts. PARTNERS 4 COWAN VILLE 2 Partners Plumbing defeated Cowanville Auto Parts 4-2' Sunday night at the Newcastle Ice Palace. The Pipebenders who are holding their own in the league, had goals scored by Stacy and Kim Rogers each a pair. With only two games left before play-off Partners could be a contender for first or second spot. Cowanville's two marksmen were L. Brown and L. Burns. REGIONAL RECLAIMERS SHUT OUT QUEENS Regional Reclaimers moved into second spot as they rang in their first game in 1975 by scoring 4 goals on Queens Hotel. Regional scored two goals in the first eight minutes of play, one by T. Graham and one by B. Wooley and Queens on the ropes for most of the three periods. Regionals other two goals came from W. Alder and Joe Reader. The shut out leaves goalie Don Todd tied for best average with goalie George Van Dam. POINT LEADERS Pete McCullough of Cowanville leads the league with 22 points. Runners up are Ron Slack, Elmhurst 15 points; Doug Rickard, Spencers, 15 points; Kim Rogers, Partners, 15 points; and Garry Van Dam Elmhurst 14 points. LEAGUE STANDINGS Elmhurst Hotel -13 points, Regional Reclaimers -11 points, Cowanville Auto Parts - 10 points, Spencers Real Estate - 9 points, Partners Plumbing - 9 points, and Queens Hotel 8 points. ORONO NOVICE FIRST ROUND WINNERS At a Novice tournament recently in Grafton the Orono entry took a one-sided win in their opening game but were defeated by Bowmanville in the second round. In the first game the locals took a 17-0 win over Newcastle with Don Stevens earning thé shut-out in the Orono nets. Both Greg Philip and Randy Tennent scored four goals apiece with Glenn Jenkins and Stew Simpson notching three each. The remaining three goals went to Sete Sawyer, Kevin Taylor and Paul Rousseau. In the second game of the series Orono was downed by Bowmanville 4-2. The teo Orono goals were scored by Murray Dennis and Greg Philip. ORONO TYKES SHUT OUT BY OAKWOOD In a recent game the Orono Tykes had their problems with an entry from Oakwood when the visiting team took a 6-0 shut-out from Orono. BEWDLEY ATOMS TOOK WIN FROM ORONO ATOMS The Orono atoms also suffered a shut-out decision from Bewdley by a score of 3-0. However the Roast Beef Atoms took a 4-2 gAME FROM Millbrook over the week-end with Joe Davis finding the mark on two occasions with other goals by William VanSeggellen and Bruce MacLean. ORONO PEEWEE FLYERS DOWN NEWCASTLE The Orono PeeWee Flyers took a 5-2 win from Newcastle with Bobby Myles and Duane Major leading the attack with two goals each. DUTCH OVEN BANTAMS STILL WINNING The Dutch Oven Bantams continue their winning ways with a 5-1 victory over the Oiono Falcons. The Dutch Oven goals were shared by Kenny Davis, Ron Bambrick, Mike Hollinger and Patrick Williams while Scott West scored the lone Falcon goal. The Orono Bantam Eagles registered a shut-out in a league game with Bewdley with Gary Bridger in the nets for the local club. The scoring was shared by Gary Clapdorp, Doug Kramer, Mark Charland, Marcel Charland and John Antonaides. GRAFTON MIDGETS TAKE WIN OVER ORONO CREW The Orono Midget has to be satisfied with a 6-4 score in favour of Grafton over the week-end.
