HAROLD WILLIAM HOOEY A former resident and businessman of Orono, Harold Harold William Hooey, died, after a nine week illness, at the Oshawa General Hospital, on Saturday, February 10th. The late Mr. Hooey has resided in Oshawa for the past six years. Born in Bowmanville in 1904 he was the son of the,late William Hooey and Mary Jane Wannan. He was educated educated in the Kirby Public School and the Sixth line school of Clarke Township. On December 12th, 1925 he was married to L. Kathleen- Alien. He was a member of the Knox Presbyterian Church. Prior to his retirement some ten years ago the late Mr. Hooey operated the H, Hooey Transport in Orono with service to Toronto for a period of twenty years. He was also an avid race horse breeder and driver and took part in harness race events throughout the area at local fairs and such events. He is survived by his wife, L. Kathleen Hooey, Oshawa, a daughter, Wilda (Mrs. E. Middleton), Oshawa and two sons, Bill, Orono and Earl, Pontypool. He is also survived survived by a brother, Lawrence, Lawrence, Orono, eight grandchildren grandchildren and five great grandchildren. grandchildren. The funeral service was held on February 17th at the- Morris Funeral Chapel in Bowmanville with Rev. S.E, Smith, Oshawa, officiating. Interment at Mount Lawn Cemetery..
