It will be 50 years next year, since the first Tamblyn Family Reunion and the new Executive to plan for it will be headed by Bob Tamblyn, President; Gerald Brown, Newcastle, Vice President; and Glenn Tamblyn, Sec. Although the three-day event doesn't get underway until' September 6th, fair president Harold Ransberry explains that the planning is "in full geqr". Ransberry maintains that this year's fair will be the best ever held. Thé. Orono fair ground has ' been the scene of the fall fair since the turn, of the century. Last year over 10,000 people turned out to • enjoy the exhibits, competitions and the midway. * The fair officially opens on Thursday, September 6th. Highlights for the day are a tractor pull contest and a Holstein show. In the evening, a Queen of the Fair -contest will be held. The popular "Lighthouse Singers" from Peterborough will entertain during the contest. Ori Friday, September 7th, its Childrens Day. Its a chance to f watch the school children of the area march in the school parade. Ransberry explains that an added attraction attraction this year will be a talent show, to be held in the evening.
