The round-up involving 18 The Town of Newcastle Planning Committee on Thursday Thursday of last week recommended recommended to council that approval approval of a development agreement for the hew Orono Plaza be granted and that proceedings for rezoning be undertaken. The matter will be before council this coming Monday, December 17th and it is expected to pass with little or no opposition: In speaking with Mr. William William Armstrong, Orono, this ' week., he said he was pleased with the action of the planning ' committee and. that as far as: .he knew all the hurdles had been ironed out with the Town. He said the Town, upon passing the recommendation on Monday would proceed with rezoning the lands to allow the development in the north-east corner of the Village. He said he. had spoken to most of the people in the area and they did seem to favour the development. Armstrong pointed out that with the. successful rezoning of the lands-a building permit could then be issued. As to definite plans and occupancy of the new plaza Armstrong said this had yet 1 to be developed or finalized. He •, said they had been awaiting^ the decision of the planning committee and the upcoming decision of council so they had something concrete concrete to offer.
