Ganaraska holds Maple Syrup Day On Saturday, April inn, 1981, the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority will be offering the first of its spring special events. The public is invited to join us in welcoming this season by participating in Miiple Syrup Day at the GanafâSka Forest Centre. Tours of the sugar bush will comrtience at 10:00 a.m. and proceed until all involved have had the opportunity to view the maple bush and evaporating facilities. The content of the tour will be aimed at all âge levels and we encourage people to make this a family outing. This experience will be free to the general public. In addition, pancakes and fresh maple syrup, will be served up hot at a cost, of one dollar per person. In the event of bad weather, this program will be held on Sunday, April 12th, 1981 The Ganaraska Forest Cen- tre is located approximately 2.5 miles north of County Road No. 9 midway between the Town of Elizabethvilie and Kendal. Frank Barkey, of R.R. 2 Blackstock is the owner of the" - Reserve All-Canadian 4-H Heifer Calf for 1980. The calf, Altçna Lea Royalty Marie was 4-H calf for daughter Sharyn in 1980 and had an outstanding show record including including champion calf at the East Central 4-H Show, second in the strong C.N.E. senior calf class and third at the Peterborough Championship Championship Show. Hooper pointed out that when the position was advertised advertised the advertisement had said all applications would be received in confidence by the , Mayor to be opened only by the committee. He said he was told by a taxpayer prior to one'of the council meetings that it had been learned from a council member that he (Hooper) had applied for the position of Town Administrator. He said he had been ,told-his application application had been opened and taken to council. He said he was told by the Mayor that' there was no committee but Hooper referred to a resolution of council of February 23rd when Councs. Taylor, Hubbard Hubbard and the Mayor were appointed a committee to handle both the clerk designate designate position and that of the Administrator. Hooper asked, "Do you think the proper procedure has been followed?" He said his request was to receive the information of those who had been told of his application. He said I think this is a just request. Later when the request was being considered by. council Counc. Woodyard said it was not council that Hooper was requesting an answer from but rather thp Mayor. He said the question was directed to the Mayor. Mayor Rickard said ' he could give a verbal report to which Counc. Hubbard'said "No". . A resolution by Counc.
