Orono's Scout of the Year pill V ONTARIO GOVERNMENT NOTICE 6-Orono Weekly Times, Wednesday, June 3, 1981 Cubs po ud to Scouts Thirty-six teachers declared redundant The Northumberland and Newcastle Board Of Éducation Éducation last week declared 36 teachers redundant due to declining enrolment across their jurisdiction. According to Board policy, such declarations are to be made on or before May 31st. Although the teachers have been declared redundant, there is a chance that some may be recalled to fill vacancies vacancies that could arise prior to the opening of schools in September. All rediindant teachers are placed on a recall list. Of the 36 teachers, 20 teachers are from the secondary secondary schools and 16 from elementary schools. In the secondary level, six teachçrs have been declared redundant at the Courtice High School and two at the Bowmanville High School. Patrice Perrence, a teacher of the English Arts, has been declared redundant at Clarke High School. In the immediate area of Orono no elementary teachers were included on the redundancy list, Seven Cubs of the Orono Cub Pack were taken up to Scouts on Monday evening at a ceremony at the Orono Park at which both Beavers, i Scouts, Cubs and parents were in attendance.
