We are going to repeat the cheese drive as it was such a popular and successful event last year. Many of our salespeople had inquiries about obtaining more cheese as it was very good! We are counting on all parents to help us sell cheese and don't forget to buy some for yourself - it is a nutricio'us addition to meals and a high protein snack. We did manage to make a profit of about $100.00 on our Christmas trees! Thanks to all our helpers. , Our carnival this year will be a salute to Disney! It will take place on April 11th and all skaters are welcome to participate and show off their skills, Each junior (Can- skate) member will be in one number. Each Intermediate will be in two numbers and each senior in Opening, Closing, and one other ■'number. You will be getting a form .to fill out for sizing of costumes etc. If new costumes are needed for a number; the parent is responsible for putting it together. Many of the most familar quilting designs used in North America, Eg. feathers, hearts, leaves, have direct links with traditional patterns from England and Wales. One of the quilts on display show trans-Atlantic influences influences on quiltery and patchery in 1 Ontario, including the English- piecing method. The dual nature of the third exhibition exhibition is an extension of the original intent of the show. The title "Winter's Harvest" was chosen with reference to the historical tradition in Ontario of working on quilts and other crafts during the long winters. Visitors to this show will be able to view both historical and current examples of outstanding outstanding works of craft. This exhibition will be of interest to collectors of contemporary crafts as well as those who collect antique quilts. The Great Pine Ridge New Year's Dance as usual was,a huge success and another sell-out'. It gives us added added pride and confidence to have such a successful event as this. Going by all those whom I have talked to we already have a sell-out crowd for next New Year's Eve. I would like to attribute much of the dance's success to, our dance chairman, Kin Bert Lelievre and his sub-chairmen: Norm Dawe, Jack Oegerna and Don Armstrong. Many of the patrons attending the dance felt that this was one of our most organized dances ever. Many dedicated hours of preparation and effort really paid off. Another member who did an outstanding job for this event was Kin Wayne Martin who organized the many prizes given out throughout the evening. For those who are thinking of next year, we have already booked the same D.J. (John Homan) for the third consecutive year. I'm very happy that we have such support within the community.
