On' Monday, March 2nd they hosted Port Perry and swamped the -Scugog Savages 8-1. Scott McAllister, who has been rejuvenated rejuvenated since his holiday in Niagara Falls, had the hat trick with assists on his goals going to Andrew Taylor (2), David Sheridan (2), and Brad Minnis. The McAljister, Taylor, and Sheridan line • accounted accounted for two other goals by Andrew Andrew Taylor with Brad Minnis pick» ing up another assist. Cameron Esler re-directed one in on the prettiest prettiest pass of the night by, once again, Scott McAllister. David Sheridan also assisted. Cameron got another one while on his usual line whgn he deflected Jeff Hartwig's shot, Tyler tiibson could not be kept off the score sheet either as he blasted one by the original Port Perry goalie on a setup setup from Cameron Esler. 1 mentioned the original Port Perry goalie because the outclassed northern team did attempt several solutions to Orono's domination. Changing the goalie worked positively for them, but their attempt attempt at rough play in the later stages of the game backfired. On Tuesday, March 3rd Roughley Insurance Novice travelled travelled to Baltimore for a 6:30 game. We have never beaten Baltimore , at home and 1 guess we'll have to wait till next time to do it. Jeff Hughes opened the scoring at the 6:42 mark of the first period giving Orono a 1-0 lead. Jeff's goal kept us in front until the 7:28 mark of the third when Baltimore tied it up. Had it not been for some standout goaltending goaltending by Clayton Rendell things could have been much worse. We managed to hold on for the tie despite forgetting how to play as a team and instead playing as in-, dividuals. On March 6th we travelled to Manvers for the first of back to back games with our neighbours to the north. Manvers always seems to play well against us at home and tonight was no exception. It was the J line that put Orono on the board first with Jonathan, Jamie and Jason combining on a nice passing play. Jason Lawrence got the goal. Manvers tied it up late in the first period. In the second period we had a power play opportunity and the combination of Sommer West, Drew Hansen and Jeff Hughes delivered the go ahead goal. Drew won the face off, got the puck to Sommef who scored on a low wrist shot to the corner. A smart way to play, fellows. However, in Bewdley on Wednesday Wednesday night Orono must, have felt somewhat like Port Perry two nights previous. Bewdley has such a powerful team Orono seems to "wither away" as soon as they fall behind. Actually, Oroho did have the lead 2-1 halfway through period one on goals by Andrew Taylor from Scott McAllister and Jeff Hartwig from Tyler Gibson and Cameron Esler. However, Bewdley scored ten seconds after Jeff's goal and by the end of the period one the score was 4-2. Orono attempted a comeback on a goal by that pesky Scotsman, McAllister assisted by linemates Taylor and Sheridan. Nonetheless, except for another goal by Tyler Gibson from ■ linemates Hartwig and Esler, the game was, in effect, over at the five . minute mark of period two. The final score was 12-4. To quote Monty Monty Python's crew - "Say no more! Say no more!" except to point out that goalie, ' Shawn Hardy, who played so well against Port Perry, was not to blame for the Bewdley blow-out! Better luck in Port Perry on Sunday,-fellows.
