Mrs., Reremon said the skating club could well use the donation which was greatly appreciated. Another project within the community community by the Kinsmen Club. spring now A letter of appreciation is being sent from the Town's Public Works Department to Mr. Lott of Lott Well Cleaning, Enniskillen, for his work in cleaning the source of water supply at Water Trough Hill. The water at Water Trough Hill "had been a source for many area residents until such time as it had been determined too unfit for drinking by the Health Department. At this time Lott had contacted the Public works Department and A federally funded program operated by the Northumberland and Newcastle Board of Education is making placement of employment employment for unemployed women and youth. The program operates in a Cobourg School and in the Bowman ville High School. The job entry and re-entry projects projects combine classroom instruction with on-the-job training with local businesses. It is having a 66 percent success rate in the local area. The program started in April of 1986 with the federal government providing $187,500 for three separate intake sessions involving 104 students in Cobourg and 20 students in Bowman ville. For 38 weeks trainees divide their time between their school and a local business placement. Sommer West who was earlier thwarted on a penalty shot attempt came back to score 2 goals, one unassisted, the other with help from Jeff Hughes. Jeff Hughes also got into the scoring scoring parade with help from Sommer and Simon Weagant. The final was Orono 9 Manvers 1. ' Orono 2 - Millbrook 4 Saturday, March 7, 1987 was the Holiday Juice Novice "B's" first playoff game. The Juicers had a tough time getting started, their passes weren't connecting, their skating wasn't up to par either and our defense had a few holes in it: Millbrook had put in four counters by the time Orono came to life at the 3:10 amrk of the third, which was too late to make a comeback. The Juicers goals went to Tomas Wakefield and Scott MacDonald, getting the assists were Wade Peacock, Danny Buttigieg and Tomas Wakefield. Orono 0 - Millbrook 4 The Holiday Juice Novice "B's" were in Millbrook on Sunday, POEM MY SON Please don't curse the boy oat there. He is my son, you see, He's only just a boy, you know. In the second we lost some Of our momentum and as a result Millbrook added two more as well as the one from the end of the first. We got a bit of our spirit back part way through the third, but Millbrook didn't let up, they.just kept hustling even though they were three goals up. With two minutes left in the game Millbrook struck for their final goal. Come on Orono let's get back to our old style of play, passing, skating hard and checking at the blue line. We can still win so let's put our minds to it and get going in the next game.
