The mound of garbage would rise an obvious 80 feet above the' hills you see, driving north on Newton- ville Road. Little Scoops -My heart was in my mouth - the other day a group of boys came racing racing down the hill - the big one on Hill Street. One young lad went literally flÿing through the air, crashing to the pavement, I don't know who it was, but neighbours took him in when his friends CQùIdn't move him. The ambulance came, bound him and took him away. We have seen several spills on the hill. We cannot stress enough to our kids not to race down the hill. The number one problem being that basement tenants might be left off voting lists completely. Recognized historic site in Perrytown. St. Paul's Anglican Church in Perrytown has been named an historic site and is now eligible for grants from the Ontario Heritage Foundation. The church was built in 1914 with walls of fieldstone and an interior featuring prominent beams and trusses. Restoration architect, architect, Peter Stokes, completed a recent report on the church noting that St. Paul's has architectual merit and most of the interior finishings have remained intact. Firefighter's museum to be built Organizers of the Canadian Firefighters' museum have been told by the Port Hope council, that they can plan lo build their historical showcase. The $4.5 million display will be built at t, south-end of Mill Street on a piece of land owned by the town. Deer hunt proposal to aid farmers In order to reduce crop damage, poaching and vehicle collisions with deer, a meeting in'Hope Township endorsed a four day deer hunt for. the area surrounding Port Hope ' and Cobourg this fall. In the Ministry of Natural Resources proposal, proposal, the hunt will be limited to Ontario residents with written permission permission to 'hunt on a landowner's property.
