Millbrook in opener The Orono OMHA Peewee's opened the season with a win in Millbrook in Wednesday, October 19th. Bolstered with two Tri County County Peewees and two Atoms. The game started with Millbrook putting putting great pressure on Orono keeping keeping the puck in their offensive zone and peppering Orono with shots, two of them on - clear breakaways but could not score until the 6:59 mark on a long shot. Orono came right back 15 seconds later to tie the score at one when Darryl Reid fired- a long drive from just inside the blue line, assisted by Steven Shetler. Henry Kaldeway put Orono ahead when he shot Steven Shetler's rebound rebound into the net. Millbrook scored the only goal of the second period to tie the game again. Orono turned on the burners in the third period with three unanswered goals. The first two were scored by Steven Shetler with an assist from Darryl Reid and the third scored by Jason Mercer assisted by Henry Kaldeway and Steven Shetler. Millbrook United Church to hear Oshawa presbyerty , The United Church judicial committee committee is to hear appeals from the Oshawa presbytery of which Orono United Church is a member in Orono Figure Skating News by Lynne Lemieux The skating club is asking families and friends to save ' and turn in their labels from Campbells Soup. Campbells is again donating 5 cents to the C.F.S.A. for every label collected. Clubs participating ' in the program will receive the five new Canskate ribbons designed for those in the Canskate program. Some of our beginners received their first ribbon recently which said, "I CAN STOP." The children are very proud of their accomplishment accomplishment and this provides incentive for them.
