Bank Manager "Cowboy Joe" The Hamlet of Newtonville does not have her own bank; thus we have pretty well "adopted" the staff over at C.I.B.C. in Newcastle Village. When Hallowe'en arrived though, it was difficult to be serious about debits, credits and overdrafts when the accounts expert handling your money wore a clown suit and ^/frvrA nhatns nf fïicht.... . McLaughlin, centre, poses with his ghoulish staff on Hallowe'en. giggled at your deposit slip; or when you noticed those Arabian eyes studying studying you from distance, or when the wicked witch of the west (who was there in duplicate!) clawed at your passbook began punching unknown digits into the computer! There were many more smiles and chuckles in the lineup on this day at the bank. Each and everyone of these sporting bank employees showed terrific spirit and on this Hallowe'en, they themselves were the best treats of all! A warm, belated welcome is extended extended to manager Joe McLaughlin who quite recently moved over to the bank in Newcastle. I am sure Joe will agree that he "inherited" a grand bunch of gals. Little Scoops... - V-O-T-E it is your privilege, your right and your duty. November 14th - DO IT! - Thanks to all who organized and attended the Autumn Harvest of Handicrafts held last weekend. It turned out to be a grand country community event. - This is a very special week - Friday is Remembrance Day. Make sure you attend your community Remembrance Day service at the cenotaph. Here ip Newtonville our service will be at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, Friday, with Legion members and school children taking part. -With the thought of remembering in the foreground, Bev Higgins and Roberta Ransom of Newtonville are having an "After School Special.." Thursday, November 10th from 3:30 in the afternoon over at the church Sunday school room to get together and make candle holders to be used in a special Remembrance Remembrance Day event scheduled for Friday Friday evening. All kids welcome to pop. over for an interesting and fun time. Plan to, attend the "Hope for Peace" Coffee House event Friday evening from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. All adults and youngsters welcome. As this extremely extremely popular "tradition" continues, continues, more people are joining, and even more are welcome to do so...it really does seem to be a pleasurable night out.
