First, there was the semi-formal and then there were two away games. Saturday night, they travelled north to Ennismore for a return visit. The Ennismore team must have remembered their trip tp Orono last week and called up the reserves. Ennismore started the scoring at the 4:26 mark of the first period but Orono responded right away when rookie Chris Field converted passes from Robert Milford and Greg Bester. Ennismore went on to score four more goals while Orono only managed one more with Captain Bob scoring scoring with only seconds left in the game. The game showed the effects of'last weekends game with Ennismore taking the majority of the penalties .but 5:54 Field (Milford, Bester) 3rd Period 0:30 Witheridge (unassisted) Langstaff (Witheridge, Landers) 6:37 Landers (Withèridge) Orono lost three players, to suspensions, who were basically basically defending, themselves. The boys kept their composure composure and worked hard. The short bench caused many of the players to run out of steam before the end of the game. Sunday it was on the road again to Douro. Although the team came out on the short end of the scoreboard, they, more than made up for it in experience. Again the Orono Aggies were out penalized by their opponents and again they demonstrated their character. The Gravel Men held two leads in the game and gained a tie at the end of the second period. Tire game appeared to be headed for a tie when an errant pass and breakaway cost the team the two points. After getting their first bench minor and some heated words Allin's Orchard Bantams "Squash and Squeak" The Allin's Orchard Bantam team hosted the Omemee Sharks on Friday November 10 and SQUASHED the fish. They skated to a 10-1 victory with the whole team .pitching in for the win. Ofono's scoring came from C, Robinson (hat trick); MillsOn (2), Szymczak, Allin, Richter, Barnes and Westerink. Assists went to Pisani, Heerschop, Millson (5), Westerink, Barnes (2), Price, C. Robinson, A. Robinson (2), Williams and Szymczak. Omemee's only goal and Kevin Martin's spoiled shut out came at 14.11 of the third period. It was a different game in Fenelon Falls on Sunday, Nov. 12 as the Applemen just SQUEAKED by in the first 2 periods. The first period was scoreless, with Orono getting the games first goal at 5:34 of the second. Paul Richter let a shot go from the blue line and C. Robinson put it away. Fenelon Falls tied the game at 11:46 of the third and it looked like the game may end in a tie until Orono started playing the "trap": Kyle Allin put Orono ahead at, 5:22 with C. Robinson getting the assist. Justin Szymczak put the icing on the cake with help from , Paul Richter with 1 (22 remaining remaining arid Tanner Millson scored 'the,team's 4th goal with 22 seconds remaining. The team skated away with a 4-1 victory. -JP Armstrong IGA edge Bowmanville Sport Shop The Orono Armstrong IGA Peewees scored an exciting win on Remembrance Day. Mike Hisson and Andrew Fudge provided some exciting goaltending. The defense, Brian Konopka, Mike Howe, Scott Henderson, Justin Westerink, Josh Flynn and Greg Howe were strong on the blue line: Adam Wood opened the scoring assisted by Heather Maitland. Wood scored the winner with 1:23 left to play in the game. Assists went to Heather Maitland and Mike Howe. Matt Bester, Reid McDonald, Garrett Wood, Cam Delorme, Garrett MacDonald, Joey Robertson and Tyler Skelton made some exciting plays. Congratulations on a 2-1 win! on the bench the team returned to the job at hand and played a very solid game of hockey. The coaching staff was challenged trying to keep lines together because of the variety of team members who had to miss the game because of work and the suspensions ' from the night before. Orono got off to a great start with the first goal in the first period by Kevin Griffen with help from Mitchell Harding. Unfortunately, Bowmanville got the next three goals. Daniel Hodgson made a valiant effort in the third again with help from Harding, but the final score was Bowmanville 3, Orono 2. Great effort for Orono. Keep up the good work boys! -PH Stuff's Novice Extend Unbeaten Streak to Four A superb effort by the team resulted in a 4-1 score for Stutt's over Bragg's Seeds of Bowmanville on Nov. 11. Goals were scored by Anthony Bortolazzo, Steven Donadel and Matt Puddicombe with two. A great effort by the defensive lines of Stosh Fabricius. Alex Shkuratoff, Derek Snow and Ty Simpson. Shawn Lowe was outstanding outstanding between the pipes. The forward forward lines of Brian Dillon, Chad Moore, Harley McColl and Drew Rocha applied great ' pressure, .with Nick Kuijpers blitzing both ends of the ice.
