'The match was the first meeting between the Flyers and the Leafs this season. . After a 3-1 loss to Cannington, the Country Cafe team were determined to come out on the winning side. Orono was first on the board in the first period on a goal by Rob Blaker off a great pass from Jeremy Caruana. But Fenelon Falls answered with two goals of their own. In the second period Rob Blaker scored an unassisted, goal to tie the game. Minutes later, Orono went ahead -3 to 2 on another great shot to the top corner by Blaker. With a minute and a half left in the second period, Orono Country Cafe mounted another rush into Fenelon's end that resulted resulted in Blaker's fourth goal of the game on a great set up by Tom Meester. Fenelon responded with a goal of their own at the 0:23 mark. Orono's goaltender, Brock Dunham, was steady between the pipes throughout the third period to protect the win. Blaker would score his fifth goal, assisted by Garret Klompmaker. midway through the third to clinch the win. Last Friday, the Country Cafe Leafs played at home against the Manvers Mustangs. Orono had solid goal-tending from Jessica Moore. The Tykes then travelled to Newcastle for their first tournament. Their record for the day was one win and two close losses. Jennifer Mercer and Dylan Dennis led the team in scoring, scoring, with two goals and two assists each. Dylan also played a solid game in net in Orono's only win. On December 28th, the Leafs travelled to Beaverton and came home as Division 'C' champions. In the first game, Orono took on Bobcaygeon. Despite a strong effort, the Leafs lost their first and only matfch of the tournament by a score of 3- 2. Goal scorers for Orono were Spencer Cole and Tyler Webster. In the second game, Orono faced off against Millbrook. The Leafs dominated the ice and were victorious with a score of 6-1. In the Division C" Championship, Orono took on the home team of Beaverton. The Leafs' goattending duo of Ryan Brandt and Patrick Rempel had a shut-out. Orono had three goals' off the sticks of Greg St. James, Spencer Cole, and Brandon Leblanc. On Dec. 30th, the Leafs travelled to Cannington. To end a winning 'holiday season, the Leafs travelled to ■ Manvers and defeated (hat ' team with an impressive 6-3 Y win.
