Youth Bowling trophies awarded The Newcastle Youth League held their end of the year "Bowling Banquet" on Saturday, April 20st at Newcastle Bowling Alley. Trophies & awards were presented presented by Youth Bowling president, Andrea Crowells. The playoff and attendance awards were presented by bowling alley manager Dorella Lancaster-Forget. Seventeen out of 43 received attendance awards of 95% and over. Three bowlers had 100% attendance: Caitlin and Chris Cormack and Zachary Werheid. Pizza and pop were enjoyed by bowlers, parents, and friends. Thanks for a good year, and we hope to see you back next year. A special thanks to treasurer Karen Charlebois and the parents who helped throughout the year. As part of the celebrations for Éarth Day, a hike through the Nature Area will take place. We will also be building bird and bat houses that are to be placed in the Nature Area. Also planned are a scavenger hunt for the kids, a photo contest and a tree planting. This is an opportunity to come out and enjoy one of the nicest and most natural areas that our community has to offer and to celebrate Earth Day and all it represents. Events will take place in the west parking lot of the Samuel Wilmot Nature Area. To get to the parking lot, take Highway 2 to Cobbledick Road, turn south and travel past the railway tracks and it is the last entrance on the left. Yours truly, Allan D.
