Member Nancy Bedard Bedard made a banner which adorned the stage. Junior member, Kasia Kulyk, played the piano for the singing of O Canada. Grade 1 and 2 St. Francis of Assisi pupils under the direction of Miss Biss, sang two lovely numbers and were applauded heartily by the audience. Councillor Charlie Trim, representing the Municipality of Claring- ton, brought greetings and presented president Narda Hoogkamp with a plaque commemorating the 90th anniversary. Master of Ceremonies, Ceremonies, Hazel Crago, presided over the musical musical program. Martha Farrow played piano for the Golden Rainbow Singers who meet regu- Salsa means sauce in Italian. Preparation Time: 20 minutes; Chilling Time: 2 hours; Makes 4 cups (1 L) 4 Ontario Field Tomatoes, peeled and chopped Half Ontario Cucumber, chopped 2 Ontario Green Onions, chopped 1 Ontario Sweet Green or Red Pepper, chopped 1 clove Ontario Garlic, crushed 2 tbsp (25 mL) vegetable oil 1 tbsp (15 mL) red wine vinegar ^ 1 tbsp (15 mL) lemon juice Q 1 tsp (5 mL) salt ^ 1/4 tsp (1 mL) pepper 2 drops hot pepper sauce 1 /4 cup (50 mL) chopped fresh parsley In medium bowl, combine tomatoes, cucumber, onions, green or red pepper and garlic. Whisk together oil, vinegar, lemon juice, salt, pepper and hot pepper sauce. Pour over vegetable mixture and combine gently. At saving time, add parsley. Can be stored in refrigerator lor up to 4 days. Alice Blue Gown (Gloria Gordon) was escorted by Rick Bonnici as the singers rendered that song; Mary Tillcock was the announcer. Great toe-tapping music was presented by Doreen Lowery at the piano with fiddler Norman Andrews and Joan Kellett and Carmen Irwin ort banjo. Bonnie CoWle, Bruce Mortimer and pianist Pat Prout provided more music. Bonnie Helps got the audience moving--a relief after sitting so long. To close the music portion of the belebra- tion were the Country Four quartet - Don Staples, Jack Allin, Glenn Allin and Merrill Brown; always popular. Horticultural Service Certificates were presented presented to Dorella Lancaster-Forget by President Narda Hoogkamp Hoogkamp and to Ann Best by Vice-President Rose Pandy. Both Dorella and Ann are willing workers in the Society. For most points in the Rose Show, Isabel Hart was presented with the CIBC gift by Rose Pandy. Congratulations are extended to the juniors who participated in their show - Kasia Kulyk, Marina Witvoet, Bethany Witvoet and Tamara Kulyk. Show chairs were Ann Best and Rose Pandy with judge Carol Mostert. Efficient secretary, Darlene Sullivan conducted conducted the door prize draws. In charge of the lunch was ever-faithful, Bonnie McCracken aided by Angela Dey, Dorella Lancaster- Forget, Isabel Hart, and other supportive members. members.
