October open house at the Ganaraska Forest GANARASKA FOREST- Ganaraska Region Conservation Conservation Authority (GRCA) hosts their Annual Open House and Members' Day on Saturday, October 2nd, 2004 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Ganaraska Forest Centre. Families and friends are invited invited to join in on an array of fun-oriented fall festivities planned for the general public and forest members. It's a beautiful time of year to take a guided nature hike through the Ganaraska Forest. Along with hikes, other featured featured activities include horse- drawn wagon rides, a historical historical tour of the forest, activities for kids, a scavenger hunt, forest forest games, draw prizes and a campfire with hot dogs, bannock bannock and hot apple cider. There will be refreshments for the whole family. Everything is absolutely free. GRCA staff and volunteers will be at the .event to meet and greet forest users and members of the public that would like to leam more about the recreational and outdoor education opportunities offered at the Ganaraska Forest Centre. Directions to the Ganaraska Ganaraska Forest Centre: If you're travelling from the west, exit Hwy. 115 and travel east about 10 km on Durham Road 9. Turn left at the Cold Springs Camp Road sign and proceed 4 km to the forest. From the east, travel west off Hwy. 28 onto County Road 9 and proceed proceed about 2 km west of Elizabethville. Turn right at Orono B.I.A. Chili Cook-Off this Saturday!!! Cold Springs Camp Road into the forest.
