For a taste of the blues and all that jazz, downtown Oshawa will be the place to be August 12-17 for the first annual Oshawa Jazz and Blues Festival. Local and internationally renowned jazz and blues artists will be performing performing at various locations in the city's downtown all week, highlighted by the main event on Saturday, August 17, where a diverse line-up of talent - from the Peter Smith Quartet and the Fabulous Tonemasters to the legendary Downchild Blues Band - will perform free concerts at Memorial Park. The festival is the result of five years of planning by the Downtown Action Committee, a group formed to help revitalize Oshawa's downtown.
