Established in Brooklin in 1974, Group 74 is a non-profit organization that promotes community spirit and goodwill. A total of $2,300 was contributed toward the purchase of the canopy and banner in an effort to raise the profile of the library in the community. "Our strategic plan and our service model all talk about community, as does Group 74's stated objectives," he said. "(It's) all about giving back to the community so we try to nurture and cultivate as many community partnerships and collaborations as we can so that we're able to do things that we wouldn't be able to do on our own." Group 74 events that the Brooklin branch regularly participates in are the Brooklin Harvest Festival, Summer ArtFest, and Santa's Reindeer Workshop.
