In June 188g, when 'the memorable flood took place, during which nearly one hundred bridges where swept away wn different parts of the township, Mr. Gerow was appointed to over- see the rebuilding, a work he per- formed to the entire satisfac considerable wealth. ~~ Politicaly, deceased was a staunch Conserva- tive and was a life long member of the Methodist Church, and was always closely = identified with church work at Brookli during his residence 1m the vicinity.
