Laing, the Manager of the Bank of Nova Scotia, shot one - of the bandits and wounded the other three times as he was leaving the building. In spite of his severe injuries, Mr. Laing gave chase to the second bandit and sank exhaust- ed on the steps after severely wound- ing his quarry.
