Web- .er and Robert Jehnstone Goudy on behalf of the said proposed company] shave agreed in consideration of the pass- jug of this by-law to usc all dae speed and reasonable cffort to erect a factory and keep it running full time and at its full capacity and to do certain .other 'acts as pore particularly set out in the agreement hereto appended, and WHEREAS in order to caery out the said agreement with the proposed Cana- dian Weber Gas Engine Company Limi- ted it will be necessary to issue deben- tures.of the said Viliage of Port Perry for the sum of $40,600 which is the amount of the debt intended to be created by this By-Law, and + WHEREAS it is desirable to issue the 'said debentures at one time and to make the principal of the said debt repayable by yearly sums during the period of twenty years, being the currency of the said debentures, said yearly sums being of such respective amounts that the aggregate amount payable in each year for principal and interest of the said debt shall be as nearly as possible equal to the amount so payable in each of the other years of the said period ; and WHEREAS the total amount required by the Municipal Act to be raised annu- ally by a special rate for paying the said debt and interest at the rate of five per cent. per annum is $3209.76, and WHEREAS the amount of the whole rateable property of the Village of Port Perry according to the last revised assessment roll 1s $469,824, and WHEREAS the amount of the existing debenture debt of the Village of Port Perry is made up as follows-- Railway Debenture $21337.08 Waterworks Debenture $14454.59 Consolidated Floating Debt $11000 whereof no sum neither of principal or interest is in arrear, THEREFORE the Municipal Council ol the Village of Port Perry enacts as follows 1. The said debentures shall bear in- terest at the rate of five per cent. per annum payable yearly at the said Bank on the dates and times mentioned therein for payment in each and every year during the Currency thereof, and shall be of such amount that the aggre- gate amount payable in each year for principal and interest in respect of the said debt shall be as nearly as possible equal to the amount so payable In each of the other years of the said period, During the currency of the said debentures there shall be raised by a special rate on all the rateable property of the said Village of Port Perry the sum of $3209.86 for the purpose of paying the amount due in each of the said years for principal and interest in respect of the said debt according toSchedule B hereto annexed. 5. Canadian Weber Gas Engine Company Limited shall be exempt from all taxes rates assessments other municipal charges includiug busi- ness tax but excepting school rates and rates for local improvements. 6.
