A MASS MEETING OF THE UFO. and LABOR WILL BE HELD IN THE ARMOURIES, Oshawa SEPTEMBER 29, 1920 The Meeting Will Be Addressed By PREMIER E. C. DRURY HON. WALTER ROLLO, Minister of Labor and others Why the Aeroplane Failed to Make Good Mr. E. H. Purdy, Port Perry, Ont. Dear Sir--I very much regret that I'was unable to land and carry out the exhibition flying as we eontracted for. The weather was most aor, and I tried to land three times in the race track about noon, but I failed. I am sure even had I'landed, the machine would have blown over, owing to the very strong wind, and the fact that this maching is a very light one, ahd will not stand rough weather, I dropped the pamphlets on my way, as requested by you. ~The reason for my not returning in the afternoon is that the machine, owing to the rough usage I had to give it in the rough weather, was out of order. I am sorry to say that we have had very bad luck this year with regard to the weather. This is not the first time we ave been prevented from flying, and we regret it very much. I hope in the future if you require an aerial attraction, you will remember this firm, and also that we may be favor- ed with better flying conditions. Yours Faithfuly, Bishop-Barker Aeroplanes Limited, W. G. Barker, Vice-President, Toronto, Sept. 18, 1920.
