McCaw are ) i: to arrive home the lat- 'ter spending the winter in, Florida, Port Perry High School A new feature in connection with the Agricultural and House- ' hold Science departments of the * High: School is the establishment of a course of lessons and conver- sations with the students by ex- perts in various lines of farm and household work. The course has been running some four or five weeks; and is'proving most successful and of the greatest _ use and interest to the students. On Wednesday April 6th Mr. Cecil Heayn gave a mostinstrucs tive talk to about thirty boys and girls on raising and care o poultry. Many questions were asked by the class, and much practical information was ob- tained. On Wednesday, April 20th Mr. James Lucas gave a valu- able talk tothe boys on seed se- lection. Many of his hints will be followed in the cultivation of tHe experimental plots this sea- son. The boys weresorry when the hour came to a close, and remained a considerable time afterwards to ask questions and obain further information. ~_ The same day the girls had a delightful lesson "from Miss Pearson in the Household Science rooms on the subject of dress cutting. . The girls, numbering about twenty,' cannot speak too highly of the lesson--they are enthusiastic, and 'their glowing and smiling countenances when- ever they speak of it show their genuine appreciation. On Wednesday the 27th the boys were taken to the stables of Mr, George McMillan and shown several types of draught horses and roadsters. Itis need- less to say that the boys were interested in learning the points to look fr in selecting a good horse, all of which Mr. McMil- lan and sons so willingly pointed out. This week Mr. James Stone- "house is taking with both boys and girls the subject 'Milk - and its 'Products."" On May 1lth Mr. James Leask is to speak on "Cattle Raising and Feeding"' On May 18, Lawson Honey is to deal with the subject "Raising and Care of Hogs," and on May 25th Mr. Wm. H, Doubt - will show both boys and girls his Bees, and explain 'methods of management.
