McINTYR A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE THE ISSUE OF DEBENTURES OF THE VILLAGE OF PORT PERRY FOR THE SUM OF $18,000.00 FOR THE aa) Md CONSOLIDATING THE FLOATING DEBT OF THE WHEREAS the Corporation of the Village of Port Perry has incurred a floating debt amounting to 35m of which $2,099.11 is an account of the Water and Light Department, and $8,696.25 is an account of over-due and unpaid Debentures issued under By-Law Number 689 which were deferred at maturity, and of which $3,000.00 is an account of temporary loans made for She puifvestef laying a water-main, and of which and o due to the Canadian Bank of Commerce, which has been carried on from year to year. AND WHEREAS it is desirable to consolidate the said debts and to issue debentures to raise the money for the payment of the same. AND WHEREAS is is necessary to borrow the sum of $18,000.00 on the credit of the Corporation of the Village of Port Perry for the Jutpose afore- said, and the said sum of $18,000.00 is the amount of debt intended to be created by this By-Law. AND WHEREAS it is necessary to raise annually the sum of $1,606.28 the payment of said debt and interest thereon for a period of twenty years AND WHEREAS the amount of the whole rateable property of the said Village of Port Perry according to the last revised Assessment Roll is AND WHEREAS the amount of the existing dejiptiture debt of the said Village of Port Perry exclusive of local improvement debts secured by special rates or assessmehts is $16,802.15, and no part of the principal or interest thereof is in arrears excepting the said sum of $8,695.25 above recited. THEREFORE THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE VILLAGE OF PORT PERRY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: -- 1, That for the purpose aforesaid it shill be lawful for the Reeve of the said Village and he is hereby authorized and required to cause debentures of the said lage of Port Perry to be made, executed and issued in accordance with the pi ions of The Municipal Act to the amount of $18,000.00, which said debentures may have coupons attached thereto for the payment of interest, and may be issued in denominations' if required. _ 2, The said debentures ¥hall bear interest at the rate of five and one-half per cent, per annum and shall be dated on the day of the issue thereof and shall be payable in equal amounts of principal and interest combined on the fifteenth day of December in each of the years 1923 to 1942 both inclusive 8. The said debentures may be issued principal 'and interest combined in twenty equal annual instalments-of $1,606.28 each and shall be payable at the Office of the Village Treasurer. '4. During the twenty years from 1928 to 1942 both inclusive being the Surfency of these debentures there shall be annually raised by special rate, over and above all other rates, on all the rateable property of the said Village of Port Perry the sum of $1,606.28 for the purpose of paying the debenture fallin due in each of the said years respectively, including both principal and nterest. : Hb.
