Union Bank Building, CHANGES IN THE ROAD LAW Changes of note in the Highway Act of 1923 have been brought to the attention of the local press by Chief Kidd of Belleville Police Department. Under the law it is now obligatory for motors standing on streets, roads or highways, between dusk and dawn to have one light on the front and one on the rear on the left hand side, visible from a distance of two hun- dred feet, the front light being white and the rear a red one, An important change is that in reference to bicycles and tricycles, It is mow compulsory for these ma- chines to carry 'a red lamp or re- flector on the rear between dusk and dawn when ridden on roads or high- These changes are among a num- ber of others of interest to the travelling public and Chief Kidd is anxious that those who have to use the roads will make themselves familiar with the demands of the law. The chief constable told the newspaper men to-day that he would like anyone who does not understand the regulations request information from him and added that he would be pleased to furnish it. --Intelligencer vem) Opn: Ten samples of "bootleg" liquor were tested in the United States and eight were found to. contain poison, As Pat Henry said: "Give me liberty or give me death." --Toronto Tele- gram, 3 A radio club has been formed in Oshawa.
