The | Royal Bank of Canada PORT PERRY BRANCH B. D. HENRY, Manager Preserve Your Resources The person who spends the money which he earns in his own towns outside his community is helping to exhaust his own resources; in the same manner in which a man who in- dulges in dissipation exhausts his physical resources by ex- pending his energy faster than the body builds it up. When a dozen residents or more do their buying outside Port Perry, they reduce the economic strength of the com- munity to a noticeable extent, and when a hundred or more residents do so, the situation becomes alarming, and the ultimate collapse of the community is inevitable. Its mer- chants will be forced to retire from business through the losses they incur, public institutions will fall into disrepair through lack of care, and soon the population will begin to fall off, as people move to a more prosperous community. The ultimate end will be ruin for the community and its residents. Guard against this condition in Port Perry. The failure i of one merchant means little, but the success of the ma- jority of the merchants spells progress for the community and its residents. The merchant is the backbone of 'the community. Individually, perhaps, there are a few who are 'not boosters of Port Perry, but collectively they are the men upon whom you should depend and give your support, Be individual bankers. Build up your resources through com- munity buying. Willard & Co. | General Merchants GROCERIES, DRYGOODS FRUITS, VEGETABLES. Telephone 46 r 2. W. L.
