The flowers for decoration were nice for the time of the year and the Singing by the choir was very appropriate. : Mr. and Mrs. John Campbell spent Saturday in Lindsay. Mr. Frank Broad, of Oshawa, spent the week end with friends here. Messrs. Bruce Tremeer and Carman Rogers motored to Port Perry on Saturday night and furnished the music at the Pavilion. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Rodman, also Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Fisher spent Sunday with friends at Janetville, Mr. Norman Moase was a business visitor to Cannington recently. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Marcle, of Oshawa, called on friends here on Tuesday. ! Mr. and Mrs. Claude Groves and Gloria Groves, of Toronto, spent Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Loy Rogers. Hoover and Mr. Donald Cameron, of Lindsay, have moved on the farm formerly occupied by Mr. Cameron. We all welcome them to this community. A large number from this vicinity attended the sale of Mr. Lamb on Friday. We are sorry to lose Mr. and Mrs. Lamb from the vicinity as we understand they moving to Oshawa. Mrs. Frank Broad, Miss Pearl Broad, and friend, of Oshawa, called on friends in this vicinity on Sunday. Mr. Sam Hall was a business visitor to Lindsay, on Thursday. Mrs, Will Stevens and daughter Wilma, and Mrs. Horace Ripley and daughter Ruby, of Oshawa,' spent Sunday with their mother Mrs. Jas. Wilson. | Mr. Marvin Rodman and Mrs. Ed. Miss Doris Netherton has left for the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, where she will train for a nurse. We wish Doris every success. Mr. Norman Eagleson, of Seagrave is bysily engaged in plowing the farm now occupied by Mr. Wallace Thorn- ton, and formerly owned by the late Dr. Gregg. Mrs. Jas. Wilson was in Lindsay on Thursday. ~ A number of this vicinity were very busily engaged in drawing turnips to Mr. James Harding at Seagrave on Wednesday and Thursday. Mr. Wallace Thornton is busy plowing on the farm npw occupied by Mr. Luke on the 6th are ronto, and also the hot fowl supper on the evening of the 21st. Mr. W. J. Hall motored to Port Perry recently, A number from this vicinity are motoring to the south and coming home with their cars loaded with apples and fruit. Mr. Walter King spent Saturday evening -in town. Zionites are pleased to hear that Valentia are 'holding their annual Thanksgiving service and hot fowl supper on Nov. 9 and 10. Rev. R. H. Rickard, B.A., M.R.E., of Oakwood, is to preach at 2.30 and Rev. J. G. Mec- Kee, B.A, B.D, at 7 p.m. A number from here attended the shooting match at Mr. Geo. Hough- ton's, Little Britain, on Thursday. Sleep, of Seagrave, were in Lindsay, on Saturday night. ' MANCHESTER Miss Jean Ferguson, of Toronto, spent the week end at the home of her father Mr. A. Ferguson. Mr. Chas. Lamb spent Monday in Toronto. Sorry to report the illness of Mrs. Frank Crosier, but pleased to know she is recovering nicely after under- going an operation for appendicitis. Mr. Frank Johnson is holding a sale of his entire dairy herd and some young cattle, on October 31st. The auxiliary of the W.M.S. met at the nome of Mrs. Isaac Vernon on Friday, October 17th. A good meet- ing and a very enjoyable time was spent. Lunch was served. Owing to anniversary services at Myrtle last Sunday, there was no church service in our church but there will be on Sunday next at 10.30 with Rev. Mr. Newell, of Blackstock, as the speaker. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Walker, Mrs. Coultis, with Mr. and Mrs. H. Real, Greenbank, spent Sunday in Clare- mont and visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Condy, while there. Our anniversary services will be held on Sunday, November 23rd, with Rev. M. Irwin, of Simcoe St. North, Oshawa, as special speaker. Mr. and Mrs. W. Crosier, Archie, and Mr. and Mrs. F. Johnson and Doreen, spent an evening last week at the home of r. and Mrs. Geo. Samells, Scugog. BE .---- CLARKE-HEAYN A very pretty wedding took place on Saturday, October 18th, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Heayn, of Prince Albert, ' when their only daughter Mary Lila, was united in marriage to Charles E. Clarke, young- est son of Mr, and Mrs. Robt. Clarke, of Sydney, Nova Scotia. The cere- mony was performed by Rev. A. E. Owen, of Uxbridge. The bride who was" given in mar- riage by her father wore a white crepe dress with veil -in cap style, caught with Orange Blossoms, and carried a bouquet of Carnations and Baby's Breath. Her only attendant was her cousin Miss Blanche Broad, wearing a blue crepe dress and carrying a bouquet of Garden Flowers. The. groom was supported by Mr. Melvin Heayn, brother of the bride. After the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served to about forty guests, after which Mr. and Mrs. Clarke motored to Toronto and other points South. 00 0 Prospect Prospect United Church Thank Offering services will be held on Oct. 26th, at 2.30 and 7 p.m. Rev.
