Everyone reported an enjoyable evening spent. Mr. Melville Thornton visited with his cousin Mr. Bruce Wilson during the past week. Mr. Stuart Hall attended the an- nual meeting of the Sheep Breeders' Association, which was held in To- ronto on Wednesday, and attended the Exhibition banquet at night. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Thornton entertained a féw of their friends to a dance at their home on Friday even- ing in honour of their nephew, Mr. Melville Thornton, who is home from the West for a short time. Mr. W. J. Hall spent Wednesday in Toronto. A number from here motored to Lindsay on Saturday and report the roads heavy in places. Friends are pleased to hear that Miss Ida McTaggart is able to be back to school again after having the misfortune of falling and breaking her arm. There was a good crowd at church on Sunday, it being missionary Sun- day. Miss McFarland gave a splen- did reading at Sunday School. Rev. Mr. Green preached a good sermon. The roads and weather were not very good but we were glad to see so many present. Mrs. Fred Western, Mr. Lloyd Western and Miss Gertrude McFar- land, were visitors to Lindsay on Sat- urday. Friends are very sorry to hear Mrs. Henry James has had a stroke, and is in very poor condition. We all wish 'her a speedy recovery. Mr. Frank Jacobs, of Eden, visited with- Mr. and Mrs. Silas Jacobs re- cently. Friends are sorry Mr. Silas Jacobs is still confinéd to. his bed. We all hope he will be better soon. : There are quite a number suffering from whooping cough and bad colds, in the vicinity. Mr. Geo. Quite a number attended the sale of horses at Mr. Percy Webster's at Oakwood, on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Sparks were visitors to Lindsay on Monday. Miss Helen Thornton spent the week end with Miss Meta Hall Mr. and Mrs. Collins,; of Pleasant Point, were recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Thornton.
