Owls, of Port Perry, visiting with friends here on Tuesday after- noon. Prince Albert Miss Clara Barrett, of Toronto, spent the Easter holiday with her mother Mrs. Rawlinson. Mr. Arthur Bond has returned to Toronto. Miss Gwen. Ettey, R.N., Toronto General Hospital, was the guest of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ettey. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jeffrey and daughter Helen of Weston, visited with his parents Mr. and Mrs. John Russell | x Jeffrey and with her grandmother Mrs, Worden, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Williams, and son Austin, of Toronto, spent Easter Sunday with Postmaster and Mrs. Williams. Mr, and Mrs. Harlam Wagg, Utica, visited with Mrs. Wagg and Miss Alice, on Sunday. Mrs. Plater and children are oc- cupying Mr. Clyde's house. Mr, Clyde is in Port Perry at his sister's looking after her property. Mr. John T. Jackson and family of Blackstock, formerly of Scugog, have moved into Mrs, Ashton's house on the back street. A wood-splitting bee arranged for by Mr. Dan Lyle, spent Monday after- noon helping Mr. Ross Murphy pre- pare the summer's supply of wood. SCUGOG The Y. P. A. met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. di Milner last Thursday evening, April 2nd. The meeting was in charge of Mr." Sydney Chandler. The meeting opened in the usual way. Mr. Clarence Carter read the Scrip- ture. Mr. Maurice Fralick had charge of the Topic. Mrs. Geo. Hood review- ed the Book of Numbers on the black- board. The meeting closed with sing- ing and the benediction. Then Mrs. Geo. Samells conducted a very inter- esting bicycle contest. Nurse McLaren is with Mrs. George Jackson, who is very sick, but we are all hoping for a quick recovery. The Centre Sunday School had a very interesting Easter program on Sunday, April 5th. Mrs. Geo. Sweet- man told her class about an Easter service at San Francisco early in the morning. Mr. Geo. Dodsley read the first lesson responsively. Mr. Herb. Sweetman read the second lesson re- sponsively. Four boys of Mrs. John Milner's class, Allen Carter, Roy Dodsley, Ralph Milner, Victor Aldred, each saying a verse. Masters Percy and Wallace Collins and Glen Demara had a little exercise to do. Mrs. Geo. Samells' and Miss Myrtle Sweetman's classes had verses about Easter. Miss Reta Milner gave a reading, and Master Owen Reader, a recitation. There was plenty of lovely Easter music. The Easter services were well at- tended on Sunday. Rev. Sweetman has been making his calls again this spring. Mrs. S. Rodman and Mrs. C. Gra- ham visited Mrs. J. A. Sweetman one day last week. Mr. and Mrs. W. Milner, of Toronto, moved their household goods from Toronto to their farm here. We all welcome Mr. Milner back to the Is- land where he lived for so long before moving to Toronto a few years ago.
