Mr. Gellett, of Oshawa, conduct- ed the service and preached a very interesting and inspiring sermon which was very much enjoyed by all. The Women's Association held a social at the church on Friday even- ing. A very interesting baseball game was played between Valentia and Zion which resulted in a victory for the Valentia boys. A dainty sup- per was then served in the basement of the church. A short programme then followed @¢onsisting of solos, readings, instrumental numbers, ete. The booth in the shed was well pat- ronized by everyone, and.all report a good time. Master Earl Wilson, of Oshawa, is visiting with his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Wilson. A number from here attended the dance at Valentia on Friday night. Mr. L. Tremeer, of Salem, has pur- chased the farm formerly owned by Mr. Frank Broad, and is now building a new barn on thg farm. Mr. George Eggleton spent Sunday at his home at Grasshill, Myrtle Station Mrs. Geo. Chisholm and the Misses Jean and Betty Chisholm have re- | turned to Toronto, after visiting at the home of Mr. R.
