Hooey, of Toronto, were visitors of Mr, and Mrs. Foster Ferguson. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hamilton, Mr. Percy Hamilton, and Miss Leona Weatherilt, spent the week end with friends in Toronto. At the nominations: held in the | Township Hall, on Monday of last week, the Reeve Mr. Norman Green, was returned by acclamation. Mr. J. Watson, one of the Councilmen, saw fit to retire, leaving a vacancy for which Mr. Jos. Forder and Mr. Todd Bruce received nominations. As both men qualified an election was neces- sary and was held on Monday of this week. The Council for 1932 stands as '| follows: Reeve, Mr. Norman Green. Councillors, Messrs. Jos. Fralick were guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. Joblin for New Year's Day, and celebrated Mr. Job- lin's 82nd birthday. We all hope he may enjoy many more of them. Mr. and Mrs. G. Jackson and Mr, and Mrs. W. Jackson, are enjoying a motor trip to visit their sister Mrs. Camplin, in Cleveland, Ohio. On New Year's Day Mrs. J. Ger- row, who has been a very patient suf- ferer for about thirty years, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. F. Nott, in Port Perry, in her 81st year. She had been very poorly for the past couple of years. She leaves to mourn her loss, six sons and five daughters--Wilson, of Reach, Charles, of Manchester, Joseph, of Medicine Hat, Alta., Frank of Scugog, Ormely, of Oshawa, Wilfred of Col- umbus, Ohio, Mrs. W. Clark, of Mari- posa, Mrs. VanNess, of Drumheller, Alta, Mrs, Clarence Fralick, Scugog, Mrs, W. F. Nott, Port Perry, and Mrs. A.
