TWEEN 'A' RINGETTE The Tween A Ringette team sponsored by Allens Siding were looking forward © the Christmas Markham Tournament for several weeks. Many of the team members had been on the Petite A team which retumed home viclonous last year, and had and Pickering. The first game was against Gloucester, a strong team which eventually won the gold. The reputation of this fast-skating and pass- ing club had preceded them, and Port knew they had 10 work hard. This match, which resulied in a 5-5 tie, ended up being the best game of the series for the Port Tweens. Although it was penalty filled, with two Port girls in the box at once for almost 8 minutes of the game, the play was end 1 end and the teams exchanged goals throughout. With 'one minute left in the tied game, a quick flip shot from Cara Vander Slagt came 10 a dead stop on the goal line as we all held our breath, and then sighed in disappointment. Brandy Harms and Shona Moase shared the goal scoring, with assists going to Bonnie Jo Norton, Lynda Payne, and Jenny Storms.
