5 Could this be a UFO It Maybe. David Caskle of Manchester took this 's Are there UFO's in Scugog? That's exactly what'members of the Canadian UFO Research Network (CUFORN) want to find out. A trio of 'UFO and Related Phenomenon Investigators' were in Port Perry Sunday to check out reports of strange lights.in the night sky. Tom Theofanous, Lis¢ Theofanous and Drew Williamson of Toronto say the reports are especially interesting because at least three separate groups of peo- y a picture of one light, but light's movement, it appears ple reported seeing similar things at approximately the same time: between midnight and 1:30 a.m. June 2. One report came from David Caskie and his mother, Linda Caskie, who live just south of Manchester. Another came from Monique and Craig Howatt of Nestleton. Still anothér man, in the Manilla area, videotaped the phenomenon. According to a report made to the Mutual UFO Network, Inc., Mr. Caskie, an amateur photogra- pher, was shooting night pictures of the nearby Uxbridge 'city' lights. He had his camera outside his house mounted on a tripod for long exposures. While inside the house, he glanced at the horizon through a window and observed an unusual light source that he first thought was a fire. In a written report they described it as "an initial hor- izontal half-moon glow at the tree top level, then it seemed to start stretching upward to become a defined consistent bright orange/yellow light. It then started slowly moving up and then down, tumed w glow and vanished as if it was turned off by a switch." Just when they thought the Caskie also observed the , P was g itself. And it would happen again a third time. Mrs. Caskie called Toronto's airport to report what they had seen, and the airport referred them t0<CUFORN and to NORAD, the Canadian/American air defense system. The Howatts were amazed when they witnessed three orange balls in the sky, from 12:10 am.
