The Taylor-Ford squad has now won three in a row and have an impressive five wins in their last six outings, a sure sign that all the hard work in practice and games is starting to pay off. Left-handed pull hitter booms blast down right field line, hooking shot grazes outside of foul pole and lands in foul ground. Home run or foul ball? Their most recent win came July 28 on the road as they romped over Pickering to the tune of 13-2. After spotting the home team an carly 2-0 lead, Taylor-Ford came storming back 0 go up 3-2 after two innings and the squad never looked back from that point on. Tim Jones chipped in with a double, and Braden Tarbotton #glso had a hit. Mau Skerraut is really gaining confidence at the plate and he also pulled off a nifty delayed steal of second base. The Port Perry team is.showing a lot of patience at the plate as Chris Monsma and Adam Moynes cach drew three walks and John Burnett had two. Getting single free passes to first were Mike LeFort and Darrin Miller. The winning pitcher was Tim Jones in his first fastball start for Port Perry. And what a gem it was! Tim fanned 12 of the 18 bat- ters he faced, surrendered just two hits and two walks. Mark did a nice job behind the plate and Mike LeFort also saw duty in the catcher's mask for the first time as he took over in the final inning. And as might be expected when the pitcher gives up just two hits, there was plenty of excellent defense in the field behind him. One was by Chris on a line drive to left field. Mark and Tim combined to get a key tag-out at home.
