Final score 5-1 for Haliburton. Nov.4 after a week's layoff the Isles hosted Fenlon Falls. This game saw the lead change hands several times before Fenlon Falls prevailed by a score of 6-5. Goal scorers were Andrew "Perernan 2 goals and one assist, Scott Wylie 2 goals 2 assists, Mike Staniland 1 goal 2 assists, Mark Cosway 2 assists, one assist each to Jason Kane and Kyle Simms. On Nov.6 the Islanders took part in the Vic Jewell Memorial' Tournament in Oakwood. Their opposition in game 1 was Gravenhurst. The opposition quickly opened up a 2:0 lead as the Isles just couldn't' connect. on any passing and the legs were in gear. After the two early goals the Isles held the opposition off the score sheet and at 1:06 of the third period Mark Cosway connected on a crossing pass from Scott Wylie to make the score 2-1. Assist also to Jason Coutoulekis, Then'at 5:23 Jeff Verrion tied the score with assists to Mike Stainland and Stiles. At 7:26 the visitors moved ahead 3-2. The Isles kept working hard and pulled the goalie and gavé Gravenhurst, everything and at 9:14 Mark Cosway scored his second goal undssisted to tie the score 3-3. The period ended tied and then 6 minutes of sudden victory overtime. The Isles came out strong and at 1:27 of overtime Mark Cosway scored the winner unassisted. Port Perry 4, Gravenhurst 3. Mark received the MVP and Hat Trick Award. Gravenhurst goalie found the loss too much and charged at the Port team and started a messy affair. Gravenhurst teanf and management showed very poor sportsmanship in this ending. Saturday evening Port played their old friends the Black Hawks from Oshawa and went down to defeat 5-1. Our lone goal by Steve Stiles from Jeff Vernon and Chad Garvock: Sunday found Isles in the "C* division against Stroud. Due to work and 'suspensions from the Friday night fiasco with Gravenhurst the Isles only had 11 players. Stroud with full «bench strength soon wore our guys down and skated to a 8-0 win. Better luck next time ~fellas. Next game Nov.16 in Little Britain.
