All teams gave their best as each game affects the final championship game positions fox the 92-93 season. Game 1 saw "Tate" Adam's, Van World Sharks continue their "Shark Attack" as they came back to tie the "second place J & D Hawks" 3-3, For the second week in a row these Sharks seem to be proving that they "saved up" for the playoffs. as Members of the Port Perry Figure Skating Club competed In the Manvers Mini Blades competition, held march 6. Melissa Meeking (left), earned a bronze medal in the Novice B, Flight | Division. Lindsay Wilson (centre) brought home a Gold medal In the Novice B, Flight Il Division, and Ashley Faux (right) earned a Silver medal In the Leopards Division, Flight - NA 2% 2 Ak 7 222.5% 2 222% iio E ZEEE H Bill Van Camp led the Hawks with a goal and 1 assist. "Captain" Callery and Mike McQuade had the other Hawk tallies. Assists went to Patton, Cowie, Olsen and "Sponsor" Joe Curran. Dennis Lycett was on hand to cheer on the Hawks! Game 2 saw the Fitzgerald's Clippers grab their second win in as many weeks with a 4-1 victory over the Compton, Comets. Although both teams were short-staffed in this one, the game featured end-to-end action in real playoff style. Richie Lefort led the Clippers with a goal and 2 assists. Larry Jackson also had a big game with 3 assists. Stevenson, Geer, and Stephenson provided the other Clipper counters. Lee Wilbur had 1 assist. The lone reply for the Comets was a goal by Mark Jobb from Rick Hope and Glen Hudson. There was a report that "Sponsor" Ron Compton hurt his leg skiing and we wish him a speedy recovery. With the win the Clippers how top the playoff standings with 4 points and continue to get excellent goaltending from > ... at the League' top goaltender, Ken Harman. Game 3 saw both the Taylor Aces and the Crandell's Gamblers hit the ice each looking for their first playoff points. The final result was a 2-1 Taylor victory with only 12 seconds left on the clock! In typical playoff as action, the first period went scoreless with both Ray Gibson and John Moore sharp in the nets. The Gamblers struck first in the second period on a goal by Steve Churchill from Jeffrey and Fowler. The Aces replied just one minute later on a marker by Fred Moffatt from Ken Little. . Thys sét the stage for an exciting final period that featured aggressive hockey, numerous chances for both teams and even a penalty shot for the Aces. Just when the fans were about to consider the game a well-deserved tie for both teams, Larry Pilkey broke in to snatch the victory in the dying seconds on a goal from Ray Zaparanuik and Ken Little! Game 4 had the spectators still buzzing from the Ace victory as the "league leading" Pineridge Phantoms, took to the ice against the "tough luck" Harrison Blazers. But just as reported last week, these Blazers came to play with a full squad and pulled out the "upset of the day" as they handed the Phantoms a 4-3 loss! The Blazers who had only a few wins this season, were not about to settle for the single point and with merely 4 seconds before the buzzer, Willy Edwards lifted the winner to the top shelf of the Phantom net assisted by Peter Lane and Gary Lance!
