wr" 96 -- Scugog Citizen - Tuesday, April 6, 1993 = Scala cruises to Pee Wee crown "On Saturday April 3, Scala Pee Wees played Big V for the Pee Wee House League Championship and came out 4- 0 winners. Jay Fletcher scored the first -goal from Travis Pickard and Chris Orr. Still in the first period Ashley Van Schelven upped the count to 2-0 on a fine rush before deking goalie Doug Short and poking it between his legs. N Assists went to Adam Brain and Ron Colvin. The score could have been much higher if not for the sound goaltending of Big \ goalie Doug Short. Most of the second period was end to end with Tom Keeble keeping Big V off the scoreboard. Fletcher added his second of the game from Ryan Williamson and Pickard. Heading into the third, Scala, knowing Big V has come back many times throughout the year, kept up the pressure. At 65:26 of the third, Fletcher notched the hat trick from Jonathon Froats and Tom Bacon to end the scoring. Scala's defence played a flawless game with each defenceman notching a point on all four goals. Tom Keeble made many fine stops to earn the shutout, especially from Lisa Bonser on a breakaway in the last minute. Many thanks to all the parents for their support throughout a very successful season, consolation championship in house league tournament, first place honors, and league championship.
