Officers working in two person teams have Scugog split into five sectors. They are checking to see how many walleye and perch sre being caught and interviewing anglers to determine just how much effort has gone into catching those fish. "They are trying to measure harvest and effort," said Mr. Wood. A real fish story From page one fish are being taken by anglers and don't have a chance to mature. Steve also suggestag-the MNR might have to consider lowering the daily limit from six to four pickerel "This would be better than shutting down the (ice) fishing complegely," he told the Citizen. They dlso said with the depth of ice-on the lake this year / (which means less water) fish could be subject to oxygen depletion. "There could be a lot of dead fish this spring," said Greg. There were about 100 entrants jn the weekend Derby hosted by "Scugog Firefighters. Weigh stations were located in Caesarea and Port Perry.
