Details call 728-1011 The Port Perry Lions Club should find heating bills at their hall in Manchester a' whole lot easier to swallow this coming winter. Scugog Township council agreed Monday to pay about $2400 to extend gas lines to the building. Lions Ken Clark and Reid Btainton said if the line can be extended, the Club would come up with $1600 to purchase and install a gas furnace to replace the electric heating system. Mr. Clark said that from January to March last winter the electric heating bill for the hall was $2800. "As a service club, we are finding it tougher to maintain the hall," he said, and unless the Ouch! Heating bills hurt heating could be converted to gas the club "will have to give up the building." # Council readily agreed to pay for extending the gas line. "It's our (the Township's) building and it is ridiculous for a service club to try to pay for . heating bills like that one," said Ward 2 rep Marilyn Pearce.
