The Angels defeated Oshawa FC 5-2 but not before Oshawa got off to a fast start in first with a run scored off a triple and ground out. Angels came back in the bottom of the third when Cheryl Vaughan walked and moved to third on Tracy Smith's single and over throw at first. She then scored on Sheri Brown's fly to left field. Then the Angels broke things wide open with four runs and they did it with singles and walks, and a two run double by Kelly Caldwell Cheryl Vaughan got her 14th win of the season against just four losses, had a single and scored two runs to help her own cause. Tracy Smith and Tara Mowder each had a pair of hits in this one. Earlier in the week Vaughan got her 13th win of the season and the Angel bats showed no Cummings Backhoe took the Squirt championship for the Cartwright Minor Softball with a 20-15 comeback victory over Pineridge Glass on Sunday. Citizen girls soccer team playing well in 2-1 victory The Scugog Citizen 13 and under soccer team met with Ajax on August 11 and defeated them by a 2-1 score. It was a close game with both win for the Citizen with good team effort by all. No game next week, Aug. 18 but the following week Aug 25, we play Whitby #1 team in Whitby at 6:30 starting time.
