wy" 22 -- Scugog Citizen ~ Tuesday, August 30, 1994 _-- Dart registration on September 16 More darts than ever will be flying in September when the Port Perry Pub Dart League opens its second season. League president Al Light says the number of teams is expected to double from ten to 20 with ten players on each team. "Already there are 19 teams committed (to play this season)" he said, adding "the league is very pleased with the interest in darts." Like last season, the teams will play their matches at local pubs and restaurants in Port Perry and area on Monday nights. The teams must be registered by September 16 as the first matches will be held on September 26. While the competition is keen, Mr. Light said the League essentially is a social league open to men and women. The Scugog Citizen will carry weekly stats this season on the League. Bri-Mar Farms site of Plowing Match The Region of Durham, Rama and Mara Plowing Match will be held Sept. 2, at Bri-Mar Farms, the farm of Brian and Marian DeGeer, Leaskdale, Ontario. The location is approximately 8 miles north of Uxbridge on Region of Durham Road #1, just north of Leaskdale General Store The match attracts competitors in various classes from the region and neighboring counties. In addition, there will be displays of new farm equipment from local dealers as well as new automobile displays: Prize lists and further details can be obtained from President Barry Timbers (905) 436-9947, or secretary Jim Ferguson (705)357-3069. Achievement Day for the members of the Durham 4-H Plowing Club will be held on Sept. 1 at the same site. Spectators are welcome on both days. The fourth annual Bucko's Bash party raised $3440 for the Bullding Fund at the Memorial Hospltal. In the last three years Bucko's Bash has generated about $10,000 for the Building Fund. First year the party was held the proceeds went to the Sick Children's Hospital.
