wy 18 -- Scugog Citizen -- Tuesday, Ne b 29, 1994 Port Seniors m by N.R. Caswell The Senior's meeting and pot- luck dinner on Nov. 23rd had approximately 80 members in attendance. Min. and Jim Martin were the greeters for this meeting. Following the singing of our National Anthem and the Blessing accompanied by Edna Beckett at the piano, we were treated to an excellent variety of food supplied by our members. 2 The Wednesday morning dance class entertained the Seniors with four of their traditional dances. Eva Hunter accompanied the dancers at the piano and joined with Bob Cawker in a bit of music making. All members joined in singing one of our well known carols. The Executive members reported on the activities of our club. A very important period in our club history was related by Roy Grierson. In 1972-73, the Latcham Centre was built and the Seniors were given the use of this Centre to hold their meetings and expand their activities, Clara Warren reported on the success of our Bazaar. So many members participate in so many ways, We can assure you that your efforts are deeply appreciated. The prizes for the winners of our draw tickets were food hampers, a fruit basket, an afghan, a mystery box and the eeting first prize of $100. The lucky winners were Laura Milligan, C. Traloulace, Allan Ellicott, G. Read, Howard Hall, Candi Stainton, Elsie Domoney and Doris Dargavel. Dec. 7th is the date for our Christmas Dinner, always a special day for the club. Some of our activities may be cancelled during the Christmas season so check the local paper for details. Thanks to the kitchen staff and all those who give a helping hand. edition and Signature Serles Waiter Campbell, a self-taught watercolour artist, was a featured guest at the Framer's Gallery over the weekend. Campbell, 43, started painting full time in 1973 and Is famous for his paintings of century old buildings found throughout Canada and the U'S. He and his wife, Lynn, and children, Jamie and Vanessa, currently live outside the Sunderland area. Campbell's newest prints out are Christmas Magic.and Two Hearts.
