Council meetings now start at 1:30 PM Mondays and run until early evening. However, it has been the practise of council over the last few years to schedule Monday night sessions on specific issues of concern to ratepayers so that those who work during the day can have a chance to attend in the evening. Ward 2 rep Marilyn Pearce said 'if council meetings started late in the afternoon and continued through to 10 PM or later, it would hurt the local newspapers in reporting council business as they deadlines to meet. Ward 4 rep Joyce Kelly said unless there is a specific issue, the public likely is not interested in attending evening council meetings. Councillor Moffatt who campaigned on a pledge of better dialogue between ratepayers and the council, suggested that a precis of the council agenda be posted on the front door of the municipal office from Friday to Monday so that ratepayers could get an idea what issues are coming up at the regular Monday' meetings. i This suggestion will be studied by staff. It was pointed out that the entire agenda for Monday meetings is open to the public the prior Saturday at the Scugog Library. Very few people refer to it. 985- 2377 263 Que St. Por rt Perry PRINT FIND SERVICE & CONSIGNMENT SALES SECONDARY MARKET PRINTS No G.S.T.
