wy 18 -- Scugog Citizen -- Tuesday, April 25, 1995 Dart tournament for Muscular Dystrophy The second annual 'dart . tournament for = muscular dystrophy is coming up this Saturday, April 29 at Goreksi's Lakeside Recreation on Scugog Island. Barb Knowlton, who organizes the tournament along with George Robinson, says they are hoping for at least 24 teams of four players (two men, two ladies) each. And she says they are hoping Jus to top the $600 the first tournament last year raised for muscular dystrophy research. The entry fee will be $40 per team and the competition is a round-robin format. Barb says half of the total entry fee will be returned to the competitors in prize money. This is a : competitive tournament, but Barb says organizers are encouraging players to come and have an IT ARRI enjoyable day as well. "We want people to come out and have a good time." Along with the darts, there will be all kinds of raffles with proceeds for muscular dystrophy. Over the last few years, Barb has been instrumental in raising several thousand dollars for muscular dystrophy through the dart tournament and by canvassing the summer residents at Goreski's.
