Chief Richard Miller said the alarm was turned in just before 3:00 AM by the owner of the cottage who had been sleeping in a guest house on the property on Coleman Crescent. He said the single storey cottage, built in 1927, was engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived on the scene. Officials have estimated damage to the cottage and contents at about $110,000. There were no injuries. Oak Hills over the weekend. Police said the white Polaris SL 7560 machines were under lock and key on a trailer that was blocked in by a vehicle. Thieves apparently cut the locks, then dragged the trailer some 50 feet down a steep grade where it was towed away. The incident occurred the night of May 28-29. A police spokesman said one of the machines is valued at $7500 and the other at over $11,000 due to modifications for racing. Meanwhile, Police are warning owners of bicycles to keep them in the house or a locked garage. Two mountain bikes, valued at $300 each disappeared the night of May 26-27 from an outdoor patio at a home on Bigelow Street in Port Perry. Police said the Fila San Andreas model bikes are grey and black in colour.
