Born about three weeks ago, this tiny snow monkey (Japanese , Macaque) weighs less than a pound and spends much of her time clinging snugly to her mother. When full grown, shell weigh between eight and ten pounds. When not clinging to mom, the little one is learning how to climb and finding her way around the pen she shares with her mother and father. The mother is extremely protective, never letting her new baby out of her sight. This tiny little monkey has everything, except a name. Northwood owner and operator Norm Phillips said last week he is planning to expand the facility in the fall to bring in a polar ~ bear, a pair of Kodiaks. Meanwhile, five timber wolf pups born this spring at Northwood are on their way to a new zoo in Tokyo, Japan. Bass Series weigh-in at Goreski's on Sunday More than 150 teams are entered in the Top Bass Fishing Series on Lake Scugog this coming Sunday, June 25. Ted Gallone, who runs the series, says the format will be" live release and the team that has the top weight (five fish) will take home a cool $4,000. There -will also be cash prizes for the top 15 teams and $500 for the angler who weighs in the largest bass of the day. Gallone said the weigh-in will start about 2:30 PM at Goreski Lakeside Recreation on Scugog Island and the general public is more than welcome to come out and see the big fish being weighed. Nestle Ice Cream is the major sponsor for Top Bass Fishing Series and there are' lots of prizes to be handed out to the spectators at the weigh-in.
